As physiotherapists we care both about your physical and mental wellbeing. And it’s this time of year where students can find themselves struggling with college or school and the stresses of upcoming exams.
Dare I mention the C word – Christmas!! It is nearly upon us and for you students that means Christmas exams. These words are often associated with stress, worry, fear and feeling tired – that’s very normal.
Now is the time to learn how to deal with this stress and anxiety. It is important to find time away from your studies – your mental health shouldn’t take a back seat! When making a study timetable schedule in some ‘down time’ where you can go for a walk or watch tv guilt free!
Exercise is proven to be beneficial in managing stress, worry and fear – it is definitely something you should add into your day for the coming weeks. A short walk with your dog or with friends to distress and reset can do just the trick!
At the weekends try to get some time away from the desk – you will only learn if you are feeling energised and can concentrate. Exercise boosts your energy which can only lead to more efficient and effective studying!
And once the next few weeks are over the stresses will be gone and it’ll be time to enjoy Christmas!
