It can also be hard to know where to start with exercise. You are told that certain exercises should be avoided, such as sit-ups, while we know that weight-bearing exercise pitched at the right level for you can help your bones to get stronger.
There are also postural changes that can occur because of osteoporosis that can be addressed.
We have designed a pilates programme for people with low bone density or those who are keen to optimise their bone health, with a mix of weights and mat based exercises, focusing on strength, balance, and mobility.
